The most recent update from the developer was at the start of February 2018 when they reported having 3.4 million concurrent players." (Metro, 2018). Fortnite is genuinely the most popular game in the entire world right now for all major consoles. The community behind it is huge and the age range of players matches. At least once a week the game is updated by the developers at Epic Games and every single day there are new items to buy in the shop. Some items are recycled or brought back by popular demand. This is a great opportunity to design some items to be sold on the Fortnite Store and put them into context within the game to advertise them.
Here are some items already sold on the store:
The items can be themed around season current seasons such as the cupid skin and heart pickaxe for Valentines. They are not always themed this way, some are created around the games themes or based on pop culture. Often designs do not seem to have meaning behind them and can just be made for fun. All the items are cosmetic only and give no extra in-game advantage. The idea behind this is to add a bit of customisation and personality to the game itself. Since the game is free to play the developers also need money to come in from somewhere. The designs are always colourful, always fun and always somewhat playful.

Every 3 months Fortnite begins a new season of play. The newest season is the 4th and is said to feature superhero themes throughout. This would be a good opportunity to design around this theme. Towards the end of the current season comets of been crashing down to earth and we have seen a lot of hints to some sort of space theme with current themes once again this is something to take away for designing. Finally Fortnite enjoys featuring food and drink in their designs and a lot of places on the in-game map suggest they enjoy food based themes.
