After sharing the ideas with friends and with the gaming community feedback was gained on the design ideas. Many of them seemed to score quite highly where as some may have been a bit off the mark or maybe not relevant.
The last pick designs using more human body parts wasn't as widely accepted as the phrases were not multi national. The Tooth Pick design did seem to get some following but the sketch didn't really show off it's full potential.
Both superhero designs scored highly but as Marvel have a film coming out relatively soon Stormbreaker made it through. The design was also more detailed for Stormbreaker. The idea of the lightning animation and the thunder sound also went down really well.
As it is a gaming community the Pick-Man design worked really well again with the animation and noises it would make. People enjoyed the simplicity of it as well. As for the Oh Balls design there wasn't enough to take the design further. Maybe it didn't seem that it would work too well or the community just weren't into the sporting idea.
People really enjoyed the space designs. They loved the ray gun idea but felt it wouldn't look right in the game as it would be too large. It was suggested that instead of a pick the ray gun would be normal size and would shoot blasts to harvest items rather than swinging a pick. The meteor or comet design went down well as it is relevant to the game currently and would seem as if it were a souvenir from this season.
All the food designs seemed to go down well, maybe for their simplicity. The Pick-le design seemed to really gain following, possibly because Rick and Morty is huge and the pickle reference to that us big at the moment.
Obviously it was stated that these were not the final designs for the picks and they would be taken further with more detail being added and more care taken over the final pieces. The animation and sound ideas were often complimented, people added on their own ideas for designs and sounds as well. This was a great feature to add on to bring the picks into the game rather than have them stand alone as images.
