This project has been a very enjoyable one. I was excited to start it and this helped fuel the entire design process. As I play the game itself, have a passion for video games and pop culture this project was something I could really focus on and stay positive with throughout. As the piece was self driven it also helped by making sure I stayed to the brief guidelines and stayed with the target audience meaning that the project didn't go off course.
The project was meant to only last a few days and did, like most of my projects this year being able to plan out when certain aspects needed to be done by was really helpful. Making a time plan, even one as rough as the one I try to stick to is unbelievably beneficial. I was actually ahead of time in some areas but the digital process took longer than anticipated. In the future a project like this could be taken even further by collaborating with an animator or someone who specialises in game design.
I managed to combine both hand rendered means of design and digital design into this project and came out with an outcome I am pleased with. I don’t often find myself doing a project so self driven but I find it important to create briefs such as this and have a creative output into something I am passionate about and not just for a client. This way I am able to show off skills and ideas I may not be able to produce in other projects. I feel this brief has gone well overall and could continue to be taken further if any success is had from sending to the developers of the game.
I have managed to stick to the brief, to the target audience and gain important feedback from the gaming community to drive the brief further and further. Although this is only a small self initiate project it has managed to produce a substantial brief and show what I can do with something I am passionate about. It also shows what level of work I can produce on a smaller amount of time.
