Brief:
Background:
Often there is artwork made for films by independent artists such as Olly Moss in forms of poster and other merchandise. It is not often seen that packaging is made to store the the physical copies of the films in forms of Blu-rays and DVDs. Packaging is an important part of design and would help to make the purchasing of films in a physical format more desirable and collectable
The Problem:
Blu-Ray/Film boxes are often made using artwork from the film. This often doesn’t give the consumer anything extra, there’s no collectability or anything unique in having physical pieces like this. There aren’t often boxes created as one off designs.
The Task:
Design a unique one off series of Blu-Ray boxes. Make sure the designs fit into a series and work together. The designs should be collectable and feature elements from each of the films. The artwork should not feature photographs or anything taken directly from the film.
