I asked that from my initial points about the project if people thought that I had managed to stick to them.
I spoke about bringing the leaflet into the modern age like explaining how phones could be used to send out the warning signals. The modern idea was brought up again talking about how I could use a QR code to send the reader to a website to find out more. This linked into the idea of adding in something that could tell you how to get in contact with anything to give more detail. I was asked about the colour scheme I used and what made me choose the colours I did, what made me think about the choice, what was the reasoning behind it? The last point was about the front of the leaflet being a bit sparse and lacking in information. Would this really make someone pick up the leaflet or would they not have a clue about what it was about and therefore throw it out before they have a chance to look at it.
I did mean to add in more modern advancements in the design. It wasn’t because I couldn’t be bothered or forgot but more to the point that the leaflet is meant to be used in the event of a strike. This also brings me onto the point of including internet or other services to contact. Most likely phone lines and even electricity could be down so a contact system is not always the best idea in the situation. This leaflet is simply if you are stuck in your own home or business or anywhere else how would you protect and survive. The colour scheme was chosen because of the complete contrast between the colours, black and white completely compliment each other in contrast. The colours on the inside of the leaflet are to draw your eyes to the important information. This would split up the text inside not making it to heavy on the eyes and would mean you can quickly find the information you need. When asked about the front of the leaflet I explained that the information was left out because I had placed the government logo on the back people would realise the urgency. At the same time people may not understand why they are receiving the leaflet and this may scare them going against my idea to keep people calm. I could maybe include an explanation about how this is to be used in the event of an attack but that we are not expecting one to keep people at ease.
My overall opinion for my design is a good one. The leaflet is bold eye catching and relays all the important information I wanted to include. The design is simple yet attractive, you want to pick it up to find out more and because there isn’t too much information on the inside you want to engage with it. The stock is right for the design the only annoyance is that I chose the wrong paper type for printing. The weight for folding up the design works perfectly and the contrast from the outside to the inside works brilliantly to keep your attention. I think the only point that I would make is that I would maybe have to include some sort of description for the leaflet as you are almost thrown in with no idea about why you are reading the information and for a design that is meant to calm the reader it may end up scaring them receiving a guide like this with no explination. Overall I am pleased that I have met the criteria set and achieved my own goals.
