I thought the current design used for Protect and Survive was still relevant as it included family safety and a sense of calm within it.
Colour was something I wanted to play around with, I didn't want to go too over the top but wanted the design to stand out. The blue and the orange reminded me of some sort of game which I thought looked nice but it didn't suit what I wanted to portray. When I was playing around with the typography I saw the black on white and realised that the design would work as that. The black would contrast really well and pop off the paper for the viewer to see. As for portraying information on the outside of the leaflet I thought using just the HM Government logo would be enough as people would realise the urgency. The outside of the leaflet would be mostly white therefore I thought to again have a striking impact I would make the inside white on black and add in small amounts of bright saturated colours to highlight important information.
The designs above are little icons or pictograms I plan to use to show the information inside my leaflet as to not make it too text heavy.
